Representatives of the companies Palfinger BH and PK participated in the 5th International Symposium titled “Forest Engineering of South East Europe – Status and Challenges,” which was held 13. on September 14, 2018, at Bjelašnica and Igman, organized by the Faculty of Forestry of the University of Sarajevo. This gathering was part of the activities marking the 70th anniversary of the faculty’s successful work and existence.
During the two-day event, leading regional experts from Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Macedonia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina presented professional papers regarding the current status, modern trends, and challenges in the field of forest engineering. Topics covered included forest harvesting technology, forest transport infrastructure, mechanization, soil and water protection, forest biomass utilization, ergonomics, and occupational safety.
Companies PK and Palfinger BH presented modern solutions in the field of mechanization, handling, and timber transport. Particular focus was placed on the latest models of PALFINGER EPSILON M-series cranes and the Q17Z model, which stands out with an 11-meter reach and up to 15% faster and more precise operation compared to other cranes in the same class.
For the practical presentation of PK forestry upgrades and EPSILON cranes, a specialized truck upgrade from the company SILVESTRA was exhibited at the symposium.
