The Croatian manufacturer of electric hypercars, Rimac Automobili, is expanding its production and research capacities by building a state-of-the-art complex. During the execution of demanding works, two Palfinger PK 165.002 TEC 7 cranes with PJ 300 fly-jib and PJM020 (MFA-Jib) stood out, making a key contribution on the construction site thanks to their exceptional reach and lifting capacity.
On a construction site covering as much as 95,000 m², two red Palfinger cranes dominate the scene — extending up to an impressive 45 meters, they demonstrated their flexibility, precision, and strength in the most demanding conditions.
A response to construction site challenges
Operators Vladimir Šimunić and Ivan Gerić from the company M.I. Hršak emphasize that, with the help of the fly-jib, they were able to effortlessly lift loads of 25 tonnes/metre at a height of 36 meters. The Krapina-based company, with 24 years of experience in steel roof installation, was engaged in installing 4,500 kg roof panels on halls with a total surface area of 75,000 m².
Thanks to two Palfinger PK 165.002 TEC 7 F cranes mounted on MAN TGS 41.420 8×4 BB trucks, the installation was carried out quickly and efficiently. The truck superstructures were completed by PK-Palfinger Kran d.o.o., the authorized Palfinger representative for Croatia.
When is flexibility crucial
Limited space and difficult working conditions posed a major challenge. Operators used a winch with a 95-meter cable and a lifting capacity of 4,500 kg, while advanced systems such as AOS (Active Oscillation Suppression) and HPSC (High Performance Stability Control) were also utilized.
In addition, the P-Fold and RTC (Rope Tension Control) functions enabled fast crane folding and unfolding without the need to reposition the cable, allowing quicker vehicle relocation on the construction site.
