London Eye maintenance using PALFINGER platforms

In the very center of London is the London Eye – the world’s tallest panoramic wheel and one of the most visited tourist destinations in the United Kingdom. At a height of 135 meters, in glass capsules, it offers visitors a unique view of the British metropolis. Due to its dimensions and complex construction, regular maintenance requires special technical solutions.

In order for the work to take place safely and without disturbing visitors, maintenance was carried out during the night hours with the help of two PALFINGER working platforms – WT610 and P550. A team of three technicians climbed to a height of 50 meters to inspect and lubricate the rear cables.

The WT610 platform was used for vertical access, while the P550 model, thanks to its flexible arm and X-jib system, enabled precise maneuvering around structural obstacles.

This operation once again confirms the technical superiority and adaptability of PALFINGER platforms, even in the most demanding working environments.
